After breakfast travel the Sunraysia region in northwest Victoria on the banks of the Murray River to the rural city of Mildura. A local guide will get on-board this afternoon to tell the story of brothers George and W.B. Chaffey, who came to the region to devise an irrigation system. Explore historic homes, a pumping station and more before travelling to Wenworth to check into your accommodation for the night. This evening enjoy dinner cruising along the Darling River.
Day 3: Tuesday 3rd October 2017 BD
Wentworth ~ Swan Hill
This morning follow the River Murray east passing through the small river towns of Narung, Wood Wood and Nyah before arriving at the Swan Hill Pioneer Settlement. Embrace the past with the feeling that you have stepped back in time. From the 1850s Pioneer Cottages to Towaninnie Homestead to our Mallee Township you can wander at leisure in a bygone world experiencing real Australian history. Enjoy a cruise on the Paddlesteamer P.S. Pyap before checking in to your accommodation for the night for a chance to freshen up for dinner. This evening return to the Pioneer Settlement for the sound and laser show, Heartbeat of the Murray. Using water, light, laser, sound and special effects to tell the story of the Murray, you’ll be transported back 30 million years, before travelling forward through time to the Murray River as we know it today.

Swan Hill ~ Echuca ~ Port Echuca
Today continue east along the mighty Murray River, Australia’s longest river at 2,508 kilometres in length. The Murray rises in the Australian Alps, draining the western side of Australia’s highest mountains, and then meanders across Australia’s inland plains, forming the border between the states of New South Wales and Victoria as it flows to the northwest into South Australia. Arriving at Echuca, visit the newly renovated Port of Echuca Discovery Centre. Learn about the bustling river trade of the 1800s, discover the Star Hotel with its underground bar, and hear fantastic but true tales of the Murray River. The visit includes a trip back to the past, when you board a Paddle Steamer on the Murray River.

Day 5: Thursday 5th October 2017 BD

After a hearty breakfast, board your 6-star luxury Langley’s Coach with your first stop being at The Big Strawberry to tantalize your tastebuds with all things strawberry. Continue on to the Corowa Chocolate and Whisky Factory housed in an old flour mill. Taste and purchase the famous chocolate, liquorice and whisky range. Relax and enjoy the ambience and feel of an important part of Corowa’s history before continuing on to your overnight accommodation at the twin cities of Albury/Wodonga.
